我所地处黑龙江省佳木斯北,松花江北岸冲积平原上,46°53′N,130°18′E,海拔在76—83米之间。在水稻栽培20年的历史中,曾先后出现5次低温冷害,如1964、1969、1971、1972、1976年等,几乎每3—5年出现一次,冷害年份约占25％左右,冷害年水稻亩产比正常年份减产30—45％,不仅当年减产严重,还影响稻种质量和数量,给次年水稻生产亦带来很大被动。
