Death and immortality, remaining the unsolved human propositions, are frequently found in Jorge Luis Borges' fictions, attracting widespread interests among scholars in literature and philosophy. Consequently, this study proposes to examine these two topics and their relationships by analyzing Borges' fictions in quantitative and qualitative discourse comprehension. We find that death of self-choice serves as the significant bond guiding human beings to the real immortality--mental immortality. The results demonstrated by a relational graph indicate a direct association between mental immortality and self-chosen death. This framework can be applied to both mass reading and academic research for proving a succinct model in the comprehension of Borges' view on death and immortality.
