百农63系河南技术师范学院用冀麦9号×掖77—14杂交选育而成。1991年河南省社旗县科学种植养殖研究会引进试种。当年参加品比试验,亩产550公斤,居22个参试品种首位。1992—1993年亩产495公斤,居50个参试品种第二位。1993—1994年亩产518公斤,又居43个参试品种首位。1994年大田推广,恰遇40年不遇之特大干旱,豫麦18等品种桔黄卷叶,分蘖差,穗短小,测产每亩超不过 Bainong 63 Department of Henan Technical Teachers College with Ji Ma 9 × × 77year cross breeding.
