我把嘴里最后一口牙膏泡沫吐出来的时候,又看了一眼挂在洗衣水泥池子上面的“扯历”.这样的一本“扯历”,放在任何一个稍微发达的地区大概都可以看作是一种史前遗迹,它是我妈从她妈那里继承的唯一一种重要的优良传统.所谓“扯历”,就是过一天扯一天的日历.听我妈说,她妈(也就是我家婆)在世的时候就是把扯历挂在水泥洗衣池子的上方,每天早上刷完牙后顺手就撕下扯历,放进柴火灶里面引火.从某种程度上来说,这是一种仪式,跟基督徒的餐前祈祷和日本人在饭前会双手合十告知他人“いただきます”(我开动啦)是一个意思,只是扯历这种形式更加中国化,也更加粗暴,以烧掉旧日子引火的形式开始新的一天,这似乎是一个有趣的隐喻.在家婆最后的日子里,她才将这个诀窍告诉我妈.据家婆说,多年前有一天睡觉的时候,她被一个小鬼请到地府里看过生死簿,发现自己只有68岁的阳寿.
