This is the May 1982 issue of the National Geographic in the United States. It depicts the brilliant and sad damage of the Angkor Wat architecture in Cambodia. Today, Cambodia and France are all trying their best to restore this cultural monument. This is the crystallization of Cambodia’s great achievements since the 12th century. They have condensed the great cultural achievements of Buddhism and Hinduism. Since the war in Indochina in 1972, the restoration work there has long stopped. However, since the late 1980s, the new Cambodian government reinstated the repairs.
