This article discusses the work of new critics and Richards, who has both contributed to translation theory and practice. Mencius’s Mind (1932) was the product of a visiting professor at Tsinghua University in which Richards explored translation issues related to his multiple definitions of theory and the multiple meanings of language. His later writings were related to his general education at Harvard, when he focused on the main texts of ancient Greek culture, Homer’s Iliad and Plato’s Dreamland. His translations in both English and English are intended to be read by ordinary readers. Finally, the author argues that Richards later adapted the Bible Book of Job as a poet, thus forming his practice of achieving a cultural intermediation through theatrical performance.
