苯乙烯(C_6H_5—CH=CH_2)是一种具有异嗅的无色液体,易于聚合,在生产合成橡胶、塑料等时作为原料。经口毒性较低,对机体的全身作用和造血系统的影响较苯为小,对粘膜的刺激性则较苯为甚。目前,随着塑料工业的发展,利用石油废气生产巨苯乙烯的工艺业已投产。该生产车间废水中排出大量的苯系物,如苯乙烯、乙苯、苯、甲苯、二甲苯,为保护水源免受其污染,需制订地面水中的相应允许浓度,本文仅就制订苯乙烯在地面水中的允许浓度进行研究。为此,我们观察了苯乙烯在水中的稳定性,苯乙烯对水感观性状,一般卫生状况的影响以及对温血动物和水生生物的毒性。并推荐出苯乙烯在地面水中的允许浓度,供设计、卫生等有关部门在实践中验证。
