The short stories by African American writers Hughes, Dubois and Jane Tummer, respectively, reproduce the conflicts and causes of lynching in different ways, emphasizing the desire of black men to improve their social and economic status. They are striving to improve and enhance their own living conditions, go beyond the statutory socio-economic status, struggle with economic and educational constraints, and suffer the tragedy of lynching. The lyrical method of lynx reproduction is a kind of stylistic experiment, which tells the hero’s desires and pursuits from the dream, the return and the negation of the ethnic groups. It reproduces the lynchings and highlights the injustice and the anti-humanity of lynchings. At the same time, alerting readers and lynching is a kind of desperate social behavior and a fear of social tendency towards equality.
