Aachen University in West Germany and the United States Utah University spent more than six years to develop a Heimes portable artificial heart drive. The design idea of this device is to replace bulky compressed air drive system with a small, lightweight and adaptive device. The basic structure of the device is a motor driven circular screw / piston assembly, the motor energy conversion device is compact and efficient.
