In the tide of enlightenment in the late Qing Dynasty, Enlightenment people passed various messages to Chinese society in the form of a large number of contemporary Western women in order to shape the ideal paradigm for Chinese women to emulate. Beijing Women’s Daily was first published on August 20, 1905. It is China’s first women’s daily. As an active figure in the Jinghua Newspaper and the female academic field in the late Qing Dynasty, Zhang Zhanyun, the chief editor, holds the idea of “saving the nation by culture” and tries to establish a new paradigm of Chinese female personality through the introduction of new western women.
