Lipoprotein (a) Lap [(a)] is one of the immunologically modified plasma lipoproteins found by Berg in 1963. It was later shown to be the same as si-nking Preβ lipoprotein. Lp (a) is similar to LDL, but high in protein content and rich in sialic acid. It is noteworthy that LP (a) is structurally similar to plasminogen. What is its role in the fibrinolytic system?
