隐性断裂带是区域、局部应力场、基底断裂活动及潜山块体扭动影响下在沉积盆地盖层中产生的具有不同成因及规模的断裂趋势带,它是深走滑断裂的伴生构造,具有较强的隐蔽性。渤海湾盆地的隐性断裂带可以总结为5种成因类型:1板块活动引起的构造应力场变化形成的区域构造应力型隐性断裂带;2基底断裂体系及其活动性形成的基底活动型隐性断裂带;3潜山呈雁列式排列形成的区域隆升型隐性断裂带;4局部应力场变化形成的变换型隐性断裂带;5潜山块体之间以及内幕薄弱带扭动形成的潜山扭动型隐性断裂带。研究认为,隐性断裂带控制了储集砂体分布,小断层与中低幅度构造组合形成断鼻、断块等多种类型的隐蔽圈闭带,潜山沿其分布形成构造脊,是油气长期运移指向区。
