The main function of the anti-torpedo combat system is to stop attacking torpedoes (or torpedos) to achieve its mission. For this reason, the basic solution presented in this article is to force the torpedo to track a route that keeps it as far from the ship as possible, depleting the torpedo’s life (soft kill). To this end, threatened vessels need to avoid maneuvering and, in the direction of early warning, launch bait and interference in accordance with the timing and mode of certain optimal tactics. Various studies have led to a solution that includes an adaptive modular system with three major subsystems: Torpedo Alarm Subsystem: Its function is to provide automatic warning. Anti-Torpedo Integrated and Responsive Subsystem: Based on certain tactics and torpedo warning signals, it explores naval maneuvering proposals and the deployment of decoy and jamming transmitters. The module includes processing equipment (alarm, environment, work configuration). Anti-Torpedo Interference Subsystem: Its function is to deceive or interfere with the torpedo or to invalidate the torpedo (system development in the future). In the basic solution provided, the subsystem includes interfaces and deployment systems for decoy / jamming transmitter systems, launch vehicles, rockets and launching platforms. This article will focus on the general concepts and functions of a combat system and do not deal with technical details about alarm systems and interference.
