院长同志: 我是否给您写这封信,已经犹豫一年多。一年以前,当高温超导突破性进展证实我在八年前对凝聚态物理的预测时,我想写信给您,谈淡我对中国科学院重点学科选择的看法。但是,后来,我没有写。原因是我在八年前所做的《科学发现采掘模型》,对凝聚态物理的预测,是作为“回采学科”预测的,而这一工作对当代最主要的“当采学科”-核物理的预测,尚未经受检验。这个预测内容是:“从本世纪末到下世纪初的30~50年内,核物理(作为当代的‘当采学科’),可能以几个重要的直接换能效应(如核(?)化学换能效应、核(?)电磁换能效应等)的发现,而进入全面利用核能的新时代”。在这一主要内容没有经受检验以前,我觉得冒然向您写信,是不负责任的。正象一个工艺没有经受中试检验以前,是不能交付生产部门正式投产一样。
