艾丽丝·门罗的小说中的女性形象以真实生活中的人物为原型,从细心体察生活的叙事者角度解析了男权父权统治下女性的不同性别角色,描述了女性为自由与平等所作的斗争。门罗从女性的视角出发,对人类中心主义背景下传统的生态伦理进行了批评,表达出敬畏生命的生态伦理思想。男权社会下,男性与女性的对立如同人类和自然的二元对立,男性对女性压迫如同人类对自然的压迫,女性与自然具有天然的联系,从而在精神上更加统一。
