陇剧脱胎于陇东道情,但它却不能与陇东道情等同。它是一个具有整体戏曲结构和全方位艺术成分的新剧种,是中国戏曲大家族中的一位新成员。陇剧突破纸亮子、牛皮人的局限,以人表演道情,效果更佳。其代表剧目《枫洛池》的音乐,在继承道情音乐的基础上进行了较大的改革和创新,在传统板式的基础上,新创作了一些板式,如“慢板”、“紧板”、“散板”、“二六板”等;乐器以“四弦”、“唢呐”、“渔鼓”为主,又增加了“二胡”、“琵琶”、“扬琴”、“笙”以及西洋乐器提琴、贝司等。对陇剧的艺术特征,行当流派以及传承价值都有很好的了解。
