李小林:1953年出生。1969年参加中国人民解放军,在总参谋部二十三测绘大队当战士,1972年入武汉大学外语系英语专业学习,1975年毕业后,分配到中国人民对外友好协会担任翻译工作。1982年赴美国加州大学洛杉矶分校攻读美国历史,获硕士学位。1983年回中国人民对外友好协会工作,历任副处长、处长。1990年出任中华人民共和国驻美国大使馆一等秘书。1992年再回中国人民对外友好协会,先后任美大工作部处长、副主任、主任,主要负责和美国、加拿大等国家的民间交往。1996年任中国人民对外友好协会副会长、党组副书记,2007年任党组书记。
Li Xiaolin: Born in 1953. He joined the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in 1969 and was a soldier in the 23rd Survey and Mapping Division of the General Staff. In 1972, he studied English at the Department of Foreign Languages of Wuhan University. After graduating in 1975, he was assigned to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries as a translator. 1982 went to the University of California, Los Angeles to study American history, a master’s degree. Back to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in 1983, served as deputy director and director. In 1990 as the first secretary of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States. In 1992, he returned to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and served as the director, deputy director and director of the Department of Work of the United States. He is mainly responsible for civil exchanges with the United States and Canada. In 1996 he served as Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Affairs, deputy party secretary, party secretary in 2007.
