The relationship between a food or an environmental factor and a particular disease often needs to be verified by a population epidemiological survey. The following is a list of epidemiological findings about common diseases in tea and the human body. According to a report from Austria in 1994, a survey of 1,863 male and female citizens between the ages of 25 and 64 shows that drinking tea is negatively correlated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease
