Premature birth adolescents and young adults have higher blood pressure. The aim of this study was to investigate whether there is an increase in blood pressure in very preterm infants 2.5 years old. METHODS: Sixty-eight very-term preterm children (gestational age 23.6-26.9 weeks, birth weight 810 ± 164 g) were enrolled in this study. Sixty-five full-term infants were enrolled as control group. Results: The systolic and diastolic blood pressure z scores for very preterm infants were higher than those of full-term infants based on pediatric blood pressure nomograms plotted by age, gender, and length. The proportion of systolic blood pressure ≥ 90th percentile in preterm preterm infants was 44% (30/68) in the control group and 23% (15/65) in the control group, P = 0.01. Multi-factor Logistic regression with gender stratification
