Objective: To construct the patt of health education based on the Behavior Change Wheel (BCW) and to investigate whether positive effects on patients with new tumors. Methods: A total of 140 patients with new tumors were randomly divided into completely informed group, partly informed group and uninformed group. The collected data was evaluated by using the general information questionnaire, self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) as well as the self-rating depression scale (SDS). Health education intervention was made to improve the mental health of patients. Results: The SDS and SAS scores of completely informed and partly informed groups were higher than those in the uninformed group. After health education intervention, the SDS and SAS scores of all groups were higher than those before. Conclusion: There were some negative influences when patients with new tumors were informed about the disease. Health education patt based on BCW makes positive effects on the negative emotions of patients with new tumors.
