According to Taipei’s “Liberty Times”: Taiwan will spend 600 million U.S. dollars in the next fiscal year on missile projects. These developments include a planned retrofit of the anti-missile system and the “Drones” II anti-ship missile, giving it the capability of a cruise-like missile. Some Taiwanese military personnel have suggested reinstating the “Pegasus” surface-to-air missile project that was delayed by the pressure from the United States in the 1990s.
