Three-dimensional seismic surveys are applied from exploration to development to production and provide conditions for detailed characterization of reservoirs, planning and implementing strategies for enhanced oil recovery and for monitoring reservoir changes during development and production. Modern 3D seismic interpretation involves the use of interactive workstations and the application of hardware and software technologies to interpret large amounts of data accurately and efficiently. In order to make effective use of these systems, 3D interpreters must not only understand the concepts of geology and seismology, but also have a better understanding of computer-assisted interpretation tools
