An engineer at the Oregon Electricity Authority improved the current line fault detector. After the trial shows that the instrument test error does not exceed the total length of the line being measured 0.3%. This device replaces radio-frequency microwave signals with traditional audio communication signals, is inexpensive and components can be interchanged with similar devices. The device also has advantages that many other devices do not have. The principle is simpler and more accurate than other similar devices. Its synchronous timer is connected to the communication system and installed at both ends of the transmission line under test. The line has failed
