奥尼尔将希腊神话中天空之神的原型进行置换变形,巧妙地运用到《榆树下的欲望》的创作中,塑造了凯博特和伊本这对性格鲜明的父子形象。剧作家将天空作为父子间冲突和斗争的集中体现,通过人与天空的亲近展现了人类自己的异化和隔离。本文试图采取神话原型的角度,从物质和精神两个层面对天空这一意象对于凯博特父子的不同意义。
O’Neill transforms the archetype of the god of sky in Greek mythology and applies it cleverly to the creation of the “Desire under the Elm,” which shapes the distinctive father-son image of Cabot and Ibn. Playwright as the focus of confrontation between the father and son and struggle of the concentrated expression of human and sky through the close show human alienation and isolation of their own. This article attempts to take the mythological prototype point of view, from the material and spiritual aspects of the image of the sky for the Cabot father and son of different meanings.
