目前,选购当地农产品运动,在欧美发达国家日渐流行。随着环保及可持续发展的观念日渐流行,开始听到环保人士鼓励民众尽量选购当地的农产食物,也就是所谓的“BuyLocal”运动。温哥华作家阿利萨·史密斯和巴顿·麦金农在2005年进行了一项实验,整整一年中,他们只食用方圆100英里之内生产、销售的食物。换句话说,如果食物不是在当地生产,他们就不食用。
At present, the campaign of purchasing local agricultural products has become increasingly popular in developed countries in Europe and the United States. As the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development is becoming increasingly popular, environmental activists are beginning to encourage the public to try their best to buy locally-produced agro-food, the so-called “BuyLocal” campaign. Vancouver labs Alissa Smith and Patton McKinnon conducted an experiment in 2005 where they consumed only food that was produced and sold within a 100-mile radius. In other words, if food is not locally produced, they are not consumed.
