Rapid solidification refers to the process of the transformation of a metal or an alloy from a liquid state to a solid state at a cooling rate of more than 10 to 5 to 10 to 6 degrees per second In the casting production, the cooling rate has a great influence on the microstructure and properties of the cast alloy However, the cooling rate provided by the existing casting methods generally does not exceed 10 ° C. The microstructure characteristics of the alloy when it is solidified at a very fast cooling rate (> 10~5~10~6 degrees / sec) This article is the author of transmission electron microscopy as the main research methods, the rapid solidification of Al-18Cu alloy (the number is atomic percent, the same below) were observed and analyzed the results.
