明末北京王恭厂药局爆炸是一次奇案,本文利用作者近几年所进行的二维有限元地震反应分析及超声地震模型实验所获成果提出:松散复盖层下埋藏基岩地形对振波射线的反射可能是此次灾情被扩大的原因之一,不论是天然地震或人为爆炸,由于王恭厂恰处于北京凹陷埋藏基岩凹曲面中心,振波射线的汇聚使振动能量局部集中,从而扩大和加重了灾害,这是一项城市灾害地质学的新课题。文中还提出了开展灾害地质学研究的具体倡议。
