本文对英国的汉语教学现状做了简要描述,并希望通过对英国媒体有关汉语教学报道的分析,发现汉语教学发展的内在原因和动力。在对媒体报道进行主题词检索和语境分析后,笔者发现:英国汉语教学发展的动力来自于中国经济的快速增长和综合国力的不断提升。一个国家的硬实力,特别是经济实力,是语言教学与传播得以开展的前提,这一结论为前人有关语言与经济关系的论述提供了新的证据。 This article gives a brief description of the status quo of Chinese teaching in the UK and hopes to find out the inherent causes and motivation of the development of Chinese teaching through the analysis of English media reports on Chinese teaching. After carrying on thematic search and context analysis of the media reports, the author found that the driving force of the development of Chinese teaching in Britain came from the rapid economic growth in China and the continuous improvement of overall national strength. The hard power of a country, especially its economic strength, is a prerequisite for language teaching and dissemination. This conclusion provides new evidence for the exposition of the predecessors’ discourse on the relationship between language and economy.
