常規變深聲納目前,前視探雷聲納和艦殼式獵雷聲納正在被變深聲納所取替。現有的艦殼式聲納不能俯視較遠距離的目標,因而僅限於在淺水域操作。變深聲納解决了這個難題,增大了探測距離,但出現了拖曳體後移現象。也就是說,由於艦艇航速提高,拖曳聲納换能器加大深度,拖體向艦艇運動的反方向移動。因此在設計變深聲納時必須考慮:使它既能遠距離探測,又可在一定距離上進行有效分類。但要增加探測距離就要降低頻率,從而導致基陣加大。
Conventional Deep Sonar Currently, forward-looking sonar and ship-hunt sonar are being replaced by deeper sonar. Existing ship-shell sonar can not overlook the more distant targets, and therefore limited to shallow waters. The deeper sonar solved this problem and increased the detection range, but the trailing body shifted backwards. In other words, as the naval speed increases, the towed sonar transducer increases its depth and the tow body moves in the opposite direction of the warship movement. Therefore, in the design of deeper sonar must be considered: it can both long-range detection, but also in a certain distance for effective classification. However, to increase the detection range is to reduce the frequency, resulting in increased array.
