[Objective] To analyze the volatile chemical components of Flos Caryophmlli from different Habitats. [Methods] The volatile components were analyzed by HS-SPME-GC / MS and quantified by peak area normalization method. Besides, the data was analyzed by principal component analysis( PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis( HCA). A total of 72 kinds of volatile components were identified from the 13 batch of Flos Caryophmlli.[Results]The volatile components of the Flos Caryophmlli from different habitats are different. And Flos Caryophmlli from Madagascar,Guangdong,Guangxi and Indonesia can be identified effectively by PCA and HCA.[Conclusion]The HS-SPME-GC-MS technique combined with PCA and HCA can be used for identifying volatile components of Flos Caryophmlli from four habitats. This study is expected to provide a new approach for the comparison and quality assessment of Flos Caryophmlli from different habitats.
