Team history The Wolverhampton Wanderers prototype comes from the campus when John Baynton and Jack Brodie organize St. Luke’s school ), A group of students formed a football team, on their strong demand, the school president Harry Barcroft donated to the team a football. In 1877, the St. Luke University football team was formed. Two years later, the team joined the local cricket and football club and became the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. For the sake of simplicity, based on the first five letters of the team name, the team took the team a nickname - the Wolves. The team’s team emblem also uses a wolf’s head image, exudes a wild nice. After a few badly-conditioned home runs, the Wolves finally owned their own new home, Molineux, in 1889 and has been in use ever since.
