Objective To investigate the protective effect of glucose-insulin-potassium solution (GIK) on ischemic brain tissue. Methods The animal models of cerebral ischemia were established by ZeaLonga method. The GIK group was injected subcutaneously with insulin (2U / kg), glucose 10g / kg and potassium chloride 0.25g / kg orally 30min before occlusion of the middle cerebral artery. The neurological function score, brain TTC staining and infarction volume were measured. Electrocardiography was used to observe the ultrastructure in the marginal zone of infarction. Compared with control group and sham operation group. Results In the GIK group, the mortality rate was low, the neurological function score was high, and the infarct size was small. There was a significant difference compared with the control group. Ultrastructural changes show less neuronal changes. Conclusion GIK has a protective effect on ischemic brain tissue.
