This article mainly analyzes the role played by Taiwan Island in two sea areas, the East China Sea and the South China Sea, somewhat similar to the Mediterranean in Europe. In the early history, the island of Taiwan used to be only a geographical indication of the two spaces, which meant it did not play an important role in international trade. However, the rise of Fujian people made the island of Taiwan gradually embark on the stage of economic exchange. After a brief period of time, the invasion by the Dutch and the Spanish disrupted this peace process. Taiwan Island therefore became a “domino” in the early global power struggle. Later, due to the activities of the Cheng family and the Qing rule over the island, the island of Taiwan experienced a new transformation. But as before, it is basically “service” in Fujian.
