Edmundston Pump Station, located on the southern outskirts of Bakersfield, in the San Joaquin Valley region of Central California. Hundreds of years ago, it was originally arid desert areas. This area has become the richest oasis in the world due to the construction of the California Water Transfer Project and the Central Valley Project. Irrigation water management in San Joaquin irrigation district has been particularly outstanding. California water diversion works from the Sacramento - San Joaquin delta near San Francisco, through the San Joaquin Valley, to Perista Lake in Southern California, a total length of 864km. There are 22 pumping stations on the main canal with a total lift of 1000m. In 1986, the water volume was 3.3 billion m ~ 3.
