本文对于露天矿和露天矿运输改造的内涵作了简要界定，指出露天矿改造就是导致矿山工程参数和工艺制度发生本质变化的工作和措施的总和．改造的目标是：维持或增大生产能力、改善技术经济指标、改善采掘区的生态条件、延长企业寿命、解决社会问题和减少资源损失．文中对露天矿运输改造进行了分类，给出了不同类型的露天矿运输改造的矿山实例及其相应的目标、改造的实质和取得的成果。
This paper briefly defines the connotation of the transformation of opencast and open pit transportation. It points out that the transformation of opencast mine is the sum of the work and measures that lead to the essential changes of mine engineering parameters and process system. The goal of the transformation is to maintain or increase production capacity, improve technical and economic indicators, improve the ecological conditions in the mining area, extend the life of enterprises, solve social problems and reduce resource losses. In this paper, the transformation of open-pit mines is classified. The different types of open-pit mines and their corresponding targets, the essence of transformation and the achievements obtained are presented.
