Objective To evaluate the relationship between polymorphisms of transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1) gene 869T / C, 915G / C and genetic susceptibility to hypertension. Methods According to a unified search strategy, all the relevant databases were searched in all Chinese and English databases to obtain a case-control study on the relationship between TGFβ1 gene polymorphism and genetic predisposition to high blood pressure, and then to select and extract documents according to inclusion and exclusion criteria After evaluating the quality, RevMan 5.1 software was used for meta-analysis. Results A total of 14 case-control studies were included. The results of Meta analysis showed that the 869 mutations of TGFβ1 gene were associated with the incidence of hypertension (OR = 1.37, 95% CI 1.21, 1.54). OR of individuals with CC and TT genotypes were 1.43 (1.27 and 1.60) and 0.64 (0.53, 0.78), respectively. TGFβ1 gene 915G / C polymorphism associated with hypertension was not statistically significant. The results of the two polymorphic loci are similar to those of the overall analysis of the Chinese population as a research object. Sensitivity analysis showed stable results, Begg, Egger test showed no publication bias. Conclusion The 869T / C polymorphism of TGFβ1 gene can increase the risk of developing hypertension in carriers. The C allele may be one of the marker genes for susceptibility to hypertension. However, the 915G / C polymorphism of TGFβ1 gene has not been found to be associated with high blood pressure Disease related.
