This article describes a skew-crossing, differential laser thermal lens spectroscopy. Using this method eliminates the effects of higher solvent blankness. The effects of modulation frequency and pump power on the thermal lens signal are discussed. The working curve of detecting Cu 2+ is given. The factors affecting the sensitivity of the method are discussed. Some possible solutions are proposed.
