HBsAg is more widespread in the temperate regions of the tropics. The high prevalence of this indicator of HBV is often attributed to poor sanitation and other factors such as climate and the environment. In recent years, investigations have been conducted on some of the geographically isolated islands in the South China Sea. The results show that HBV and HAV infections are almost invariably common in these areas. However, the authors note that the Seychelles (Archipelago) do not have this common situation. Seychelles (Archipelago) is located in the latitude 4 ° ~ 10 °, longitude 46 ° ~ 56 °, is a tropical climate. The authors collected 417 serum samples from populations of origin, including 180 males and 237 females. Aged 12 to 85 years old. They detected HBsAg and anti-HBs by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and anti-HBc, anti-HBe and anti-HAV by radioimmunoassay (RIA).
