前列腺素可由子宫内膜组织产生,诈多学者推测子宫内膜异位症病人生殖机能可以因此受到障碍。子宫内膜异位症引起不孕症的理论,是以下述两个观察为基础的:(1)异位的子宫内膜组织产生前列腺素;(2)前列腺素可推迟滤泡破裂,改变卵的输送以及在实验动物中(也可能在人类)引起黄体溶解和流产。本文研究猴子宫内膜异位症引起的不孕症与腹水中前列腺素的关系。作者对21只猴盆腔腹膜移植了子宫内膜和脂肪组织,收集移植前腹腔冲洗液并在腹腔镜下行移植物活检,隔日取血测雌二醇及孕酮共三个月。在三个月经周期以后的月经中期,使猴交尾并收集腹腔冲洗液。所有标本和腹腔冲洗液用层析分离法和放免法分离测定前列腺素 F_(2α)(PGF_(2α)和前列腺素 E(PGE)。实验动物经病理证实有内膜腺体和基质生长。有脂肪移植物的猴,在显微镜下未见明显异位宫内
