Objective: To investigate the biological basis of Bio-Oss collagen as a scaffold material for periodontal sustained release drugs. Methods: The 4th generation human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (HPDLFs) and Bio-Oss collagen were cultured in vitro. The adhesion of cells and materials was observed by scanning electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. Results: HPDLFs adhered to the Bio-Oss collagen scaffolds. The cells extended well along the collagen fibers and extended the pseudopodia to wrap around the fibers. Some stratified cells grow along the collagen pore, and there is matrix secretion in the pores. CONCLUSION: HPDLFs cultured in vitro adhere and proliferate on the surface of Bio-Oss collagen scaffolds. The complex has good biocompatibility.
