Many types also rely on some type of ferromagnetic sheet to create the necessary non-uniform magnetic field, which is always easily clogged. A few years after its development, Kone’s engineering department made a strong magnetic separator that did not produce these problems. The magnetic separator uses a permanent magnet according to Professor Erkki Laurila’s design philosophy.
