杜甫一生坚持“致君尧舜上,再使风俗淳”的政治理想,其理想之高远,追求和坚持之执着,超出多数同时代诗人。对这一理想形成的原因,人们一般归结为中原地区深厚的儒学传统和他世代奉儒守官的家庭传统的影响。这些因素当然毋庸置疑,但似还嫌不足。考察杜甫早年的生活经历,并与王维、高适、岑参等同时代诗人比较,可以说他形成这一理想,并执守终生,和他开元时期的盛世经历是密不可分的。杜甫“致君尧舜上”的政治理想和追求也是盛唐精神的一种表现。
Du Fu persisted in his political ideals of “guiding Jun Yang, Yao Shun and re-applying customs,” and lofty ideals, lofty aspirations and perseverance, surpassing those of most contemporary poets. The reason for the formation of this ideal is generally attributed to the profound Confucian tradition in the Central Plains and his influence on the family tradition of Confucian officials. Of course, there is no doubt about these factors, but it seems not enough. It is arguable that Du Fu’s early life experience and comparisons with contemporary poets such as Wang Wei, Gao Shi, Cen Shen and so on can be said to form his ideal and to maintain his life, which is inextricably linked with the prosperity of his Kaiyuan era. Du Fu “To Jun Yao and Shun on” political ideal and pursuit is also a manifestation of the spirit of the Tang Dynasty.
