Objective: To explore the establishment of subacute carotid artery ischemia model using spider silk as a new material, and comment on the impact of this model on the relevant physiological and biochemical indicators, thus providing a new method for the study of related diseases. Methods: first spiders around about 10cm spider silk spare. Rabbit carotid artery separation, and then the prepared spider silk wound on the carotid artery, the formation of ligation points, the establishment of subacute ischemia model, and determination of blood flow, blood pressure, SOD and other indicators. Results: Carotid artery blood flow and blood pressure showed a slowly decreasing trend after spider ligation. Serum levels of MDA and SOD were firstly increased significantly after ligation and then decreased slowly. The gross pathological observation showed that the process of spider silk on the carotid artery was a progressive process from partial to complete block. Conclusion: Subarachnoid ischemia model can be established by ligament spider ligation, which may be applied to the model of chronic ischemic disease in human.
