尽管海内外学界尚未对案例教学法做出一个“放之四海而皆准”的明确定义,但学界大都公认:案例教学法是将已经发生或将来可能发生的问题,以案例形式让学习者去分析和研究,并提出各种解决问题的方案,从而提高学习者解决实际问题能力的一种理论与实践密切结合的有效的教学方法。具体而言,他“是以具有代表性、典型性和前沿性的案例为教材,在教师指导下,运用多种方式启发学生独立思考,对案例提供的客观事实和问题进行分析、研究,做出判断和决策的一种理论联系实际的教学方法”。
