松软突出煤层由于煤质松软破碎、硬度很低,造成在施工瓦斯抽放钻孔过程中经常发生垮孔或塌孔等异常情况。当采用常规钻进技术与装备施工该煤层时,由于不能有效解决排渣问题,极易造成施工困难或出现孔内事故。而采用三棱钻杆钻进松软突出煤层时可以依靠3条棱边持续不断地搅动孔底的煤渣,使其不易发生堆积,更有利于煤渣排出,从而大大提高了松软突出煤层钻孔施工的深度和成孔率。
