评剧乐队由文场、武场两部分组成,评剧武场是伴随着评剧的诞生而成长起来的。它来源于京剧、昆曲、梆子等剧种,与河北地方的花灯会、吹歌会相结合,吸收了昆曲等剧种的精华,并经前辈乐师们不断提练和创造,逐渐深化为现在的演奏形式。评剧的锣鼓点节奏鲜明,铿锵有力,有着独特的演奏风格。在清末民初时,成兆才创办的庆春社,曾聘请河北梆子鼓师做教师,并创立评剧乐队及伴奏形式,由此评剧的开唱锣鼓,如《安板》、《尖板》、《垛头》、《梆子穗》、《七锤子》等,几乎均沿用了河北梆子等其它剧种的锣鼓经。
