The “Budenbrock” is a novel by Thomas Mann, a German writer whose subtitle is “The Decline of a Family,” written in 1901. Fiction story took place in the 40 years after 1835. Budenbrock, the great businessman, is a prominent member of the German city of Lubuge and represents the aristocracy of the old bourgeoisie. Fiction writes about the life of four generations of this family. Old Buden Brock lived in a golden age of getting a business started. He bought a big house from a declining wealthy man and his relatives and friends celebrated.
