Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of atorvastatin combined with aspirin in the treatment of elderly type 2 diabetes in community. Methods A total of 98 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were divided into the combined group and the conventional group according to the method of enumeration by lottery. The conventional group was given routine hypoglycemic treatment, and the combination group was treated with atorvastatin calcium tablets and aspirin on the basis of conventional treatment. The levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), postprandial 2h PG, Hb A1c, TC, TG, LDL -C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels. Results Before treatment, the levels of FPG, 2 h PG and Hb A1c in both groups were not significantly different (t = 1.0472,0.4182,0.6432, P> 0.05). After treatment, FPG, 2 h PG and Hb A1c levels were lower than the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant (t = 5.4942,9.5601,4.6867, P <0.05). Before treatment, TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C levels in the two groups had no significant difference (t = 1.0232,1.1994,0.7979,0.6002, P> 0.05); after treatment, TC, TG, LDL-C levels were lower than the conventional group, HDL-C levels were higher than the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant (t = 17.6462,12.9074,23.9636,11.4467, P <0.05). Conclusions Combination of atorvastatin calcium and aspirin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes in elderly patients can help to improve the control effect on blood glucose and blood lipid and has more significant clinical effect.
