1993年是上海金属交易所迅猛发展的一年,这不仅使上海金属交易所继续在全国各类期货交易所中保持“龙头”地位,而且在国际期货业中知名度大大提高,影响力迅速扩大.交易迭创新高上海金交所1993年共有175个交易日,共成交6种有色金属2126万吨,日均12.4万吨;成交总额3889亿元,日均成交22.2亿元.是1992年日均成交额的4.2倍.全年交易额呈逐月稳步增长之势.第一季度日均成交15.78亿元,第二季度增至24.19亿元,从第三季度开始,政府加大宏观调控力度,整顿金融秩序,企业资金相当紧张.即使在这种困难情况下,金交所的交易仍相当兴旺,第三季度日均成交仍超过上半年的日均水平.进入第四季度后,由于国际市场有色金属价格特别是铜价的波动较大,加之12月份金交所降低交易手续费,吸引了更多的客户,交易特别活跃,创下了本年度日均成交26.45亿元的最高记录.
