The authors used protein creatinine index as an index to determine proteinuria in thyroid patients with thyroid disease and found that 29.8% of patients with thyroid autoimmune disease (AITD) had proteinuria and only 9.5% of patients with other thyroid gland proteinuria. The authors tested blood and urine samples from 105 patients, 59 of whom were Graves’ disease, 25 were chronic autoimmune thyroiditis and 21 were non-AITD patients. In 84 patients with AITD, 30 had a creatinine index greater than 100 and no other cause of proteinuria was identified in the patient’s medical history. Proteinuria with or without thyroid autoantibodies level no obvious phase
